In short
- Higgsfield reports a moderation refusal as one of two statuses: nsfw for explicit content, ip_detected for a recognizable real person or a protected character or brand.
- A refused generation is not charged, and failed generations are usually refunded automatically within a few minutes.
- A rerun of a 10-second clip at 720p costs 17 credits on Kling 3.0 Motion Control and 70 on Seedance 2.5 or Genjutsu, so a 480p draft first saves 40 credits per try on Seedance.
- Changing one thing per attempt is the only way to tell which change fixed a take; rerun the same prompt once first to rule out chance.
A bad Higgsfield take is one of three things: a generation moderation refused, a generation that failed, or a video that finished and came out wrong. Each has a different fix, and only the last one is about the prompt. Find out which one you have before you spend credits on another try.
First, which problem is it?
| What you see | What it means | Charged? | What to change |
|---|---|---|---|
Rejected, status nsfw |
Moderation read the content as explicit | No | Pose, framing or clothing; keep the face |
Rejected, status ip_detected |
A recognizable real person, or a protected character or brand | No | The face or the character design |
| Failed or stuck | The job broke on Higgsfield’s side | Usually refunded within minutes | Nothing yet; send it again |
| Finished, but wrong | The model did what it understood | Yes | One thing in the inputs or the prompt |
The status names are the ones Higgsfield returns for a generation, as Jutsu Studio reads them.
Rejected: read the reason before you edit
Moderation gives one of two reasons, and they point at different parts of the job.
nsfwis about what is shown: a pose, a camera angle, how much skin, what the clothing does in motion. Recrop the reference, change the pose in the source clip, or describe clothing that stays put. The character’s face is not the issue, so keep it; changing it only gives you a new character with the same refusal.ip_detectedis about who is shown. A reference that looks like a real, recognizable person, or like a known character or brand, gets refused. Here the face is exactly what has to change: generate a new, original face, or redesign the costume away from the character it resembles. Rewording the prompt rarely helps, because the reference images are what get recognized.
A refusal costs nothing, so the expensive mistake is not the refusal itself but three more tries that change the wrong thing.
Failed or stuck: send it again, then wait
A failed generation is Higgsfield’s side breaking, not your prompt. Higgsfield says failed generations are usually refunded automatically within a few minutes, with exceptions it lists in its help center; check the usage page before you assume credits are gone. Send the same job again unchanged. If it fails twice in a row on the same model, the model may be overloaded: try later or on another model rather than rewriting anything.
Wrong result: rerun once, then change one thing
A finished video that is wrong is the only case where the prompt or references are to blame, and even then not always. Every generation is a new roll, so a single bad take does not prove the prompt is bad.
- Run the exact same job once more. Same prompt, same references, same settings. If the second take is good, the first was chance; keep the good one and move on.
- If both takes fail the same way, the inputs are the cause. Name the one thing that is wrong: a face changed mid-shot, the wrong person wears the hat, a character is too small.
- Change one thing, and only one. One reference swapped, or one sentence added. Two changes at once leave you not knowing which one worked.
- Write it down. A short log next to the project is enough:
take 3 · Seedance 2.5 · 480p · 10 s · 30 credits
problem: the hat moves from the old man to the young one at 4 s
change: hat as its own reference image (Image 4), removed from the face crops
result: hat stays on the old man; keep
- Draft cheap, finish once. Do the fixing at the lowest resolution the model offers and render the final at the full one. A 10-second Seedance 2.5 take is 30 credits at 480p and 70 at 720p, so every attempt you make in draft saves 40 credits.
What one rerun of a 10-second clip costs, from our cost per second measurements:
| Model | 480p | 720p |
|---|---|---|
| Kling 3.0 Motion Control | 17 | 17 |
| Wan 3.0 | 10 | 18 |
| Genjutsu Lite | 10 | 20 |
| Seedance 2.5 | 30 | 70 |
| Genjutsu | 30 | 70 |
Three common faults and their fixes
Wrong height or scale. Models guess distances badly from words like “behind” or “taller”. Give them a layout: a simple top-down sketch as an extra reference image, showing where each person stands and where the camera is, and numbers in the prompt instead of adjectives. “He stands 2 m behind her, his head at her shoulder” holds far better than “he is much taller”.
An accessory jumps to the wrong person. A hat, glasses or a bag drawn into one character’s face crop tends to spread to whoever shares the frame. Crop the faces without the accessory, give the accessory its own reference image, and say who has it in plain, positive words: “only the bearded man wears the hat; the young man is bald”. A list of things that must not happen is weaker than a statement of what is true.
Two characters blend into one. When two people look alike, the model mixes their features. Give each character its own references and its own name, and for characters that come back across projects, use Higgsfield’s Soul ID and Elements, covered in Seedance character consistency.
Doing this from a Mac
Jutsu Studio shows the price on the Generate button before every job, keeps every take with its prompt, inputs and cost in one library, and plays two takes side by side, so the rerun-and-compare step above is two clicks. It is free and open source, and it runs Higgsfield’s models with your own account or API key.
