In short
- At 1080p with sound, 10 seconds cost $5.69 on Seedance 2.5 (BytePlus), $2.35 on Kling 4.0 (Kling) and $4.00 on Veo 3.1 (Google Vertex AI) at official API prices, October 31, 2026.
- Seedance 2.5 and Kling 4.0 both make clips of up to 30 seconds; Veo 3.1 makes 4 to 8 seconds per clip.
- Seedance 2.5 takes up to 30 images, 10 videos and 10 audio clips as references in one request, and sells up to 4K.
- Kling 4.0 is sold at 720p and 1080p only; Veo 3.1 and Seedance 2.5 go up to 4K.
Kling 4.0 is the cheapest of the three and Veo 3.1 the shortest: at official API prices, 10 seconds at 1080p with sound cost $2.35 on Kling 4.0, $4.00 on Veo 3.1 and $5.69 on Seedance 2.5. Seedance 2.5 costs the most and does the most: clips of up to 30 seconds, up to 50 references in one request, video editing and 4K. Kling 4.0 matches its 30-second length at 1080p at most, and Veo 3.1 makes 4 to 8 seconds per clip.
The prices below come from our daily check of 33 API providers on October 31, 2026. Official means the maker’s own API: BytePlus for Seedance, Kling for Kling, Google Vertex AI for Veo.
Price per second at the official API
| With sound | Seedance 2.5 | Kling 4.0 | Veo 3.1 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 720p | $0.231 | $0.157 | $0.400 |
| 1080p | $0.569 | $0.235 | $0.400 |
| 4K | not sold by BytePlus | not sold | $0.600 |
| 10 s at 1080p | $5.69 | $2.35 | $4.00 |
| A minute at 1080p | $34.12 | $14.10 | $24.00 |
Veo 3.1 charges the same at 720p and 1080p, so at 720p it is the dearest of the three and at 1080p it sits between the others. Veo 3.1 without sound costs half: $0.20 a second. Seedance 2.5 and Kling 4.0 always render sound.
Resellers undercut every official price. On October 31 the cheapest offers were Runware for Seedance 2.5 at $0.230 a second at 720p, Higgsfield for Kling 4.0 at $0.110 with a launch discount, and Google itself for Veo 3.1. Which one to pick
Seedance 2.5 for anything built from references or an existing clip: replacing a person in a video, keeping one character across shots, or a 30-second take with dialogue and music in one generation. It is the dearest per second, but one 30-second take can replace four stitched Veo clips. For prompts, see the Seedance 2.5 prompt examples and the Seedance 2.5 guide.
Kling 4.0 when price matters and 1080p is enough. It makes the same 30-second length as Seedance 2.5 for less than half the official price at 1080p, and it has a video edit mode too. For 4K from Kling, use Kling 3.0, which providers sell up to 4K and which costs less again: see Seedance 2.5 vs Kling 3.0.
Veo 3.1 for short single shots, especially at 1080p or 4K, and when you want a silent clip at half price to score in the edit. For drafts, Veo 3.1 Fast costs $0.10 a second at 720p on Vertex AI.
