In short
- Ten seconds of Kling 3.0 Motion Control is 90 credits in Kling's app, $1.36 on the $10 Standard plan, and $1.26 through Kling's API at 720p.
- The same model is $0.63 for 10 seconds on Higgsfield's API with the 50% discount it showed on October 25, 2026, and Kling 2.6 Motion Control is $0.35 there.
- Kling's free Basic plan has no monthly credits and keeps the watermark; removing it starts on Standard, and credits are not refunded when fast motion makes the output shorter than the driving video.
- Free and open source: Wan 2.2 Animate (Apache 2.0) and SCAIL-2 (Apache 2.0 code, MIT weights) do the same job on your own NVIDIA GPU.
Ten seconds of Kling 3.0 Motion Control costs $1.36 in Kling’s app on the Standard plan. The cheapest alternative is Kling itself through Higgsfield’s API, $0.63 for the same 10 seconds with its current discount. Among other models, Genjutsu Lite, Wan 2.2 Animate and Runway Act-Two each cost $1.00–1.20, and Wan 2.2 Animate and SCAIL-2 are free on your own GPU.
Motion Control makes a character image perform the motion of a driving video: a dance, a walk, a gesture. The tools below do the same job. Prices are each vendor’s published rates, checked on October 25, 2026, worked out for 10 seconds at 720p. Where a rate isn’t published, the table says so.

How each figure is worked out follows.
What Kling charges, and the catches
Kling’s app bills Motion Control by the second of output: VIDEO 3.0 costs 9 credits a second on Standard and 12 on Professional, rounded to the nearest second. Ten seconds is 90 credits, $1.36 on the $10 Standard plan with 660 credits, or $1.82 on Professional. VIDEO 2.6 is cheaper at 5 credits a second, about $0.76 for 10 seconds. Kling’s API lists Motion Control at $0.126 a second at 720p and $0.168 at 1080p, so $1.26 or $1.68 for 10 seconds.
The driving video must be 3–30 seconds, and the output matches its length. By default the character follows the video’s orientation: body, face, camera and facing direction. “Matches Image” keeps the image’s facing direction instead, with the camera set by the prompt, and fal limits that mode to 10 seconds.
Three things push people to look elsewhere:
- The free plan doesn’t really cover it. Basic is free but lists no monthly credits, and daily login credits are for subscribers. Watermark removal, 1080p and fast-track are paid features, and Basic output is not for commercial use.
- Credits lost on short outputs. Kling’s guide says that when fast or complex motion produces a clip shorter than the driving video, the credits are not refunded.
- Failed clips. Reviews on Trustpilot in 2026 describe motion-control clips that failed or came out unusable after the credits were spent. Kling refunds generations that fail outright; it does not refund ones that finish badly.
Cheaper routes to Kling itself
The model is the same wherever you run it; only the bill changes. On October 25, Higgsfield’s API showed Kling 3.0 Motion Control at half its $0.126 list price: $0.63 for 10 seconds at 720p, $0.84 at 1080p. Kling 2.6 Motion Control was $0.35 for 10 seconds. On a Higgsfield subscription, 10 seconds of Kling 3.0 Motion Control is 17 credits, about $0.84 on the Plus plan, as measured in Higgsfield cost per second. The full comparison of the two companies is in Higgsfield vs Kling.
Alternatives that do the same job
Higgsfield Genjutsu and Genjutsu Lite
Genjutsu keeps the motion, camera and timing of a source video and rebuilds the scene from your references. It takes a source of 4–30 seconds and renders up to 1080p. Through Higgsfield’s API it lists at $0.681 a second at 720p and was half price on October 25: $3.41 for 10 seconds. Genjutsu Lite, released on October 20, uses the first 15 seconds of the source and bills its seconds as well as the output, so 10 seconds at 720p is $2.00 at list price and $1.00 with the discount. How the two compare with Kling is in Kling Motion Control vs Genjutsu, and more Genjutsu options are in Genjutsu alternatives.
Seedance 2.5 with a reference video
Seedance 2.5 has no separate motion-transfer mode: you give it a reference video and prompt the character to perform it. It bills the input seconds as well as the output, so a 10-second clip driven by a 10-second video is 20 billed seconds, about $5.55 at 720p on fal. On a Higgsfield plan the same job is 70 credits, about $3.44 on Plus. It costs more than Kling and is chosen for keeping a character’s face and clothes steady; see Seedance character consistency.
Runway Act-Two
Act-Two is Runway’s motion-capture model: a driving performance moves a character image or video, face and body. It costs 5 credits a second with a 3-second minimum, $1.20 for 10 seconds on the $15 Standard plan and $0.50 through the API. Runway’s help center gives the driving video as 3–30 seconds. Runway’s editing model, Aleph, is covered in Runway Aleph and Act-Two alternatives.
Viggle
Viggle’s Mix puts a character into the motion of a video. Its Free plan makes 5 videos a day with a watermark; Pro is $7.99 a month for 80 credits, and Viggle says each feature uses a different number of credits without giving a rate. The API is clear: Mix costs $0.01 per output second, $0.10 for 10 seconds, and new API accounts get 100 credits. More in Viggle alternatives.
DomoAI and Magic Hour
DomoAI’s Character to Video makes 5- or 10-second clips on its $9 Basic and $29 Standard plans (billed yearly) and up to 30 seconds on Pro; it doesn’t publish a per-second rate. Magic Hour’s Motion Control takes reference videos up to 60 seconds and says it is free to use with daily credits, but doesn’t list a price per second either.
Wan 2.2 Animate
Alibaba’s Wan 2.2 Animate (Apache 2.0, September 2025) has two modes: animation, where a character image copies a video’s motion, and replacement, where the character goes into the original video. Hosted, the move mode costs $0.12 a second on Alibaba Cloud in Singapore and $0.08 per billed second at 720p on fal, where one billed second is 16 frames: a 10-second clip at 24 fps is about $1.20 on either. Wan2.2-Animate-2-14B, released on August 7, 2026, reads the driving video directly instead of extracted poses.
SCAIL-2
SCAIL-2 from zai-org, opened on June 9, 2026 with Apache 2.0 code and MIT weights, animates a reference character from a driving video and can also replace characters, at 512p or 704p, with native ComfyUI support. Like Wan, it is free per clip and wants a large NVIDIA GPU. What runs on a Mac is in Wan 2.2 on a Mac.
Jutsu Studio, on a Mac
Jutsu Studio is a free, open-source (MIT) Mac app for Higgsfield from the makers of this site. It runs Kling 3.0 Motion Control, Genjutsu and Genjutsu Lite, Seedance 2.5 motion transfer, Wan 3.0 and Cinema Studio 4.0 from one window: drop a video, pick a 4–30 second range, add a character image and render a cheap 480p draft before the full version. With a Higgsfield account it spends your plan’s credits; with your own API key it pays Higgsfield’s per-second rates, discounts included. There is no backend of ours, and every result lands in ~/Movies/Jutsu Studio/Videos.
What Jutsu Studio does not do
- It doesn’t use Kling’s own credits. Kling runs through Higgsfield, so you need a Higgsfield plan or API balance, not a Kling subscription.
- Rendering happens on Higgsfield’s servers, not on your Mac.
- It doesn’t run Runway, Viggle or open models. For Wan 2.2 Animate on your own ComfyUI, see Swapjutsu.
- Genjutsu Lite is available with a Higgsfield account only, not with an API key, until Higgsfield publishes its API schema.
- It is Mac only, macOS 14 or later.
Which to pick
- Kling’s quality for less: the same model on Higgsfield’s API, $0.63 for 10 seconds while the discount lasts, or on a Higgsfield plan.
- Keep the original camera and timing, rebuild the scene: Genjutsu, or Genjutsu Lite to save money.
- A character that has to stay the same across shots: Seedance 2.5 with a reference video.
- Already paying for Runway: Act-Two.
- Cheapest per second by API: Viggle’s Mix at $0.01 a second.
- Free, with your own NVIDIA GPU: Wan 2.2 Animate or SCAIL-2.
- A Mac app with Kling, Genjutsu and Seedance in one place, files on your disk: Jutsu Studio.
