In short
- Higgsfield is a platform that hosts Kling next to Seedance, Wan, Genjutsu and others; Kling is the company that makes the Kling models.
- Kling 3.0 Motion Control has the same API list price on both: $0.126 a second at 720p and $0.168 at 1080p (October 2026).
- Buying Kling's API directly starts at a $9.80 trial pack of 100 units or a $700 package; Higgsfield's API is billed from a prepaid balance.
- On subscriptions, a 10-second Kling 3.0 Motion Control clip at 720p is 90 Kling credits or about 14 Higgsfield credits.
Higgsfield and Kling are not two competing models. Kling is a family of video models made by Kling AI, and Higgsfield is a platform that runs Kling next to Seedance, Wan, Sora 2, Veo 3.1 and its own Genjutsu. So the real question is whether to buy Kling from Kling or through Higgsfield, and for the API the list price turned out to be the same.
This post compares the same clip on both routes, on the API and on a subscription, and then what each side gives you beyond the model. Every price was checked on the date in the sources list.
What you are comparing
On Kling, you get Kling’s models only, in its web app, its mobile apps and a desktop app for Mac and Windows, or through its developer API. Kling’s plans include Kling 4.0, its newest model.
On Higgsfield, Kling is one of many models in one account. Higgsfield’s help center lists Kling 3.0, 3.0 Turbo, 3.0 Motion Control, 3.0 Omni, Omni Edit, 2.6, O1, 2.5 Turbo and 2.1. Kling 4.0 was not on Higgsfield’s pricing page when we checked. The same credits also pay for Seedance, Wan and Genjutsu, which Kling doesn’t offer.
The same clip, priced four ways
The test clip is one that both sides publish a rate for: 10 seconds of Kling 3.0 Motion Control at 720p, Standard mode. You give it a character image and a reference video, and the character performs the moves.
| Route | Rate as published | 10 s at 720p |
|---|---|---|
| Kling API, list price | 0.9 units a second, 1 unit = $0.14 | $1.26 |
| Kling API, trial pack | Same 0.9 units at $0.098 a unit | $0.88 |
| Higgsfield API, list price | $0.126 a second | $1.26 |
| Higgsfield API, discount shown on October 20 | 50% off, $0.063 a second | $0.63 |
| Kling subscription | 9 credits a second | 90 credits |
| Higgsfield subscription | About 7 credits per 5 seconds | About 14 credits |
At 1080p (Kling’s Professional mode, Higgsfield’s Pro) both APIs list $0.168 a second, so $1.68 for 10 seconds. The older Kling 2.6 Motion Control costs $0.07 a second on Higgsfield’s API; Kling’s API page lists a single Motion Control rate and no separate 2.6 price.
The API list prices match to the tenth of a cent. What differs is how you buy:
- Kling’s API sells prepaid packages. The trial pack is $9.80 for 100 units (30-day validity, up to five purchases). After that, the smallest standard package is $700 for 5,000 units, valid 180 days, with no rollover. Kling notes these packages don’t support Kling 4.0.
- Higgsfield’s API bills per second from a prepaid balance, and failed, rejected and canceled jobs aren’t charged. Discounts come and go: on October 20, 2026 the Kling 3.0 Motion Control page showed 50% off, the 2.6 page too.
Subscriptions: credits to dollars
Subscription credits are where the two diverge, because a credit means something different on each side. These dollar figures are our estimates from each plan’s published price and credit count, not prices either company quotes.
Kling (monthly, after the first-month discount): Standard is $8.80 a month for 660 credits, Pro $32.56 for 3,000, Premier $181.99 for 18,000, Ultra+ $544.99 for 57,000. Kling’s own table puts 100 credits at $1.06 on Standard down to $0.71 on Ultra+. At those rates the 90-credit clip is about $0.95 on Standard and $0.64 on Ultra+. Kling 2.6 Motion Control is 5 credits a second, so about $0.53 for the same clip on Standard.
Higgsfield (billed annually): Starter is $19 a month for 270 credits, Plus $47 for 1,200, Ultra $99 for 3,000. Monthly billing is $59 for Plus and $129 for Ultra. Starter only reaches selected models. At Plus’s annual price a credit is about 3.9 cents, so the 14-credit clip is about $0.55; on Ultra about $0.46; on Plus billed monthly about $0.69.
Two things move these numbers more than the plan does:
- Unlimited windows. Higgsfield’s Plus and Ultra plans include 7 days of unlimited Kling 3.0. The page doesn’t say whether that covers Motion Control, and it says unlimited models work only on higgsfield.ai, not through MCP, the CLI, Canvas or Supercomputer.
- Credit expiry. Kling’s monthly credits last 31 days and purchased credits two years. If you don’t use a month’s credits on either side, your real price per clip goes up.
What each offers beyond the model
Kling, direct:
- Kling 4.0 on its plans, and new Kling features first.
- Motion Control element binding: bind a face element for steadier identity across angles. Kling’s guide says it works only when the character’s orientation matches the video.
- A motion library to pick moves from instead of uploading a video.
- Native desktop downloads for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows, plus iOS and Android.
- Commercial use and watermark removal, but only on a paid plan; non-subscribers get monthly free credits.
Higgsfield:
- One balance for many model families: Kling, Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0, Sora 2, Veo 3.1, MiniMax and Higgsfield’s own Genjutsu and Cinema Studio.
- Genjutsu, which rebuilds a whole scene around a performance; see what it does and costs.
- A public API, an MCP server and a CLI, all using the same account.
- No desktop app of its own. Jutsu Studio is an unofficial, open-source Mac app that runs Higgsfield’s models through your account or API key; it is not made by Higgsfield.
Where Seedance fits
“Higgsfield vs Kling vs Seedance” mixes a platform with two models. Seedance is ByteDance’s model family, and Higgsfield sells it next to Kling. On Higgsfield’s API, Seedance 2.5 costs $0.2056 a second at 480p, $0.4622 at 720p and $1.1372 at 1080p, so 10 seconds at 720p is about $4.62, against $1.26 for Kling 3.0 Motion Control. They are priced for different jobs: Seedance generates from prompts and references, Motion Control copies one performance. All three families are on the price table.
Which to pick
- You only use Kling and want Kling 4.0: subscribe to Kling directly.
- You use Kling through an API and spend under a few hundred dollars: Higgsfield’s API, since the list price is the same, there is no $700 package to buy, and discounts have been frequent.
- You use Kling plus Seedance, Wan or Genjutsu: a Higgsfield plan, so one balance covers all of them.
- You render a lot of Kling 3.0 in short bursts: check whether Higgsfield’s 7-day unlimited window covers your mode before buying credits.
If you go the Higgsfield route on a Mac, Jutsu Studio shows Higgsfield’s price on the Generate button before anything is uploaded and saves each result with its cost. For Motion Control specifically, see Kling Motion Control vs Genjutsu.
